IHFR members are dedicated to providing a safe secure environment for the community by minimizing the impact of fires, natural and/or human-caused disasters, hazardous conditions, and personal emergencies. The department is dedicated to the protection of life, property and the environment through a commitment to excellence in emergency response, training, public education, fire prevention, and the efficient utilization of resources.

Department History

The Indian Hills Fire Department started in the 1920s with a series of small wooden sheds stocked with buckets and shovels for volunteers to use during a fire. With the first purchase of a fire truck in 1950, the residents of Indian Hills have always had an active and efficient volunteer organization that has evolved over the years to respond to incidents and emergencies of all types. Our Medical Personnel, Firefighters and First Respnders train hard to help those in need, everything from accidents to heart attacks and fires to falls we are here to help you all. for more about our local history See IndianHillsColorado.com.
